If there is a stain on the ceiling near the unit
Say so in the first line and call rather than filling this in. On a rooftop system that usually means water is getting past a curb seal, and it has probably been doing it for a while. It is a quick thing to look at and an expensive thing to leave.
What happens on the survey
About an hour, including time on the roof. We work from the roof down: surface, deck and slope, the space above the ceiling measured at its tightest point, the route, the insulation, and finally the rooms.
You get that measurement and two or three costed options in writing afterwards, whether or not you go ahead.
